Charlotte baseball hit the field as a team on Friday, September 14 to begin the team phase of fall workouts. The team worked out in the Charlotte heat, and will also practice at 3:30 Saturday and Sunday to cap off the opening weekend of workouts.

Saturday morning, the 49ers will make an appearance at 9 a.m. at the University YMCA for the opening ceremony of the Miracle League, when disabled or handicapped children will play baseball with mentors. The 49ers will be in uniform, serving as mentors, assisting the kids as they play the game.

The baseball program has relocated to the Judy W. Rose Football Center for weight training and individual workouts this semester in advance of the team phase.

Practice will continue in the fall to its conclusion with the Niner World Series, a three-game series scheduled to begin on October 25.

The 49ers begin the season at home on February 15, hosting Delaware State for the opening-weekend series.
