CHARLOTTE, N.C. -
The Charlotte 49ers women's
soccer team will look to continue its current three-match unbeaten streak as it
plays two more matches this weekend, starting at 7 p.m. Thursday at home against
cross-county rival Davidson. The 49ers will also travel to Harrisonburg, Va.,
for a 1 p.m. Sunday contest at James Madison.
"We brought the Davidson game forward a day because we felt we can get a nice
crowd with the local club teams," head coach John Cullen
said. "It will be a
great game, it always is. There will be some good moments of soccer and some
good, hard challenges with good intensity. That's what you can expect from a
Charlotte-Davidson soccer game.
"James Madison is an excellent team. We are looking forward to playing at the
new facility up there, facing a phenomenal opponent in a great stadium. It's an
exciting week for us."
Charlotte has not lost in its last three outings, posting a 2-0-1 record to
improve to 4-2-1 on the campaign. During the three-game stretch, the 49ers have

came August 26 against Tennessee Tech with Tori Krause registering two of the
squad's five goals to-date.
The 49ers lead the all-time series against their cross-county mates, 11-3-2.
The 11 victories represent the most against an opponent in program history.
James Madison will play at Navy Friday night before welcoming Charlotte to
town. The Dukes currently are 2-4 after dropping a tilt at No. 7/9 Virginia
Sunday as part of the Virginia Nike Classic.
Charlotte and James Madison have only met once previously, a 1-0 triumph for
the Dukes in the 2002 NCAA Tournament First Round at Transamerica Field. It was
just one of two losses for the 49ers that season.
