Bloomington, Ind. -- Charlotte 49ers rising sophomore Trey McRae (Laurinburg, N.C./Scotland H.S.) cleared 6-8.25 to finish third in the high jump at the USA Track and Field Junior Outdoor Championships and qualify for the World Junior Championships to be held in Barcelona in July.

McRae, competing on Sunday, was one of six Charlotte 49ers student-athletes competing at the junior nationals, this weekend.  Each of the six just completed their freshman campaigns for the 49ers, helping both the men's and women's teams to the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championship.

In addition to his berth in the World Junior Championships, McRae garners junior all-America honors from USA Track and Field.

LeAnna Morrison (Monck's Corner, S.C./Berkeley H.S.) placed 8th in the finals of the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.61 after qualifying 8th of 17 runners in the preliminaries with a time of 1:00.89.

Failing to qualify for the finals were Juanita Leto (Concord, N.C./Concord H.S.) in the women's 100 meter hurdles and T'Sheila Mungo (Charlotte, N.C./Independence H.S.) and Jaleah Wilder (Raleigh, N.C./Southeast Raleigh H.S.) in the women's 400 meters.  Kristen Stout (Hendersonville, N.C./Hendersonville H.S.) placed 16th in the women's 3000 meters on Sunday with a time of 10:57.65.
