Charlotte, NC - Junior outfielder Briana Gwaltney was recently voted to the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) University Division All-State Softball team.

With 39 runs scored, 52 hits, 14 home runs, 40 RBI, a .608 slugging percentage, and a .304 batting average, Gwaltney nearly led the Niners in almost every significant offensive category.  A clear choice for team MVP, Gwaltney also earned second-team NFCA All- Mid-Atlantic region honors for the second consecutive year.

The Anaheim Hill, California native, who started all 55 games this year, was also nationally and regionally ranked in an array of categories.  Her 14 home runs led the A-10 and were near the top nationally along with being tied for the conference lead in RBI and second in slugging percentage. She earned first-team All-Atlantic 10 honors for the second straight year. The slugger was also honored by College Sports Madness as the Atlantic 10 Field Player of the Year.

The NCCSIA All-State University Division teams consist of NCAA Division I student-athletes from North Carolina colleges and universities. Nominees are submitted by North Carolina sports information professionals. NCCSIA members voted for the all-state team.
