Former men's soccer standout defender Isaac Cowles will play professional soccer for the USL Pro's Charlotte Eagles this season.

This past season, Cowles played an integral role in helping the 49ers reach the College Cup Championship game for the first time in school history. The 49ers won 16 games and finished the season ranked number two in the final NSCAA poll.

In addition to being named Most Valuable Defensive Player of the College Cup, Cowles was one of four Niners to be named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team.

Last season, Cowles anchored a 49ers defense that had nine shutouts and limited 21 foes to a goal or less. Charlotte's defense only allowed four goals in 580 minutes of NCAA Tournament action.
