Charlotte and UNCW played the three doubles matches and a singles match, but had to suspend their match due to lightning and rain in the area on Saturday afternoon at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex Saturday. The uncompleted match will not count, but the individual results will go down in the books for rankings and career records purposes.

Charlotte got a pair of doubles wins, with the tandem of junior Anna Ekelund (Lomma, Sweden) and freshman Lisa Grosselius (Molndal, Sweden) taking an 8-6 victory at number two. They improve to a team-best 15-1 on the season.

The newcomer duo of sophomore Dominica Nemec (Calgary, Canada) and freshman Natsuko Takayanagi (Fukui, Japan) also won a number-three doubles match 8-6. That pair is 11-8 in 2012.

In singles, Andrea Rivera (Lima, Peru) was the only player to finish, with Seahawk Olga Blank taking a 6-3, 6-1 result at number two.

The 49ers and Seahawks will not complete the match at a later date. The five-match home stand continues Tuesday at 3 p.m. versus Davidson.
