DES MOINES, Iowa - Senior Keara Thomas finished her Charlotte track and field career on Thursday at the 2011 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships Finals in Des Moines, Iowa, running in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase.
Thomas finished 20th in the semifinals of the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase. The Haverhill, Mass., product, competing in her first NCAA Championship Finals, clocked 10:30.15 on Thursday. Thomas won the 2011 Atlantic 10 steeplechase champion earlier this season.
Junior Jake Deaton will close out the 2011 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships tomorrow in the shot put, scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Results and a recap will be available on charlotte49ers.com. Flashresults.com will provide live results, while ncaa.com will provide a live webcast.
