2011: Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, 2/21... Appeared in all but three games for the 49ers in his first year with the program, spitting time between outfield (23 games) and designated hitter (team-high 27 games)... Also played four games at second base... Batted almost 40 points higher when playing in the OF... Started his Charlotte career with a monster debut, logging three hits, including two doubles, driving in six in opening games of the season, 2/8 versus Coppin State... Earned first A-10 Player of the Week award of the season, leading the Niners with 10 hits (at least two in all four games) in their first four games, with 10 RBI and five doubles against Coppin State in four seven-inning games... Had nine multi-RBI games (fourth-most on team, 49ers were 9-0 in those games) and 17 multi-hit games (tied for third-most on the team)... Was second on squad with five three-hit games... Eight-game hit streak was tied for third-longest on the team... Led team with five hits (including team-high three doubles) with the bases loaded... At Bossier Parish Junior College - Earned All-Region 14 after batting .354 and tied for the squad lead with 15 doubles, adding one triple and one homer for a .512 slugging percentage in 39 games... Also led the team with 17 stolen bases in 21 attempts... Finished third in batting average and on-base percentage (.422) on the squad.
Prep - Batted .400 at Seven Lakes High School, earning Team MVP honors as a senior... Named to the Greater Houston Area Team, listed as First-Team All-District... Member of the National Honors Society...
Personal - Parents are Janice and Tony Montalbano... Has two sisters and a brother, Lindsay, Allison and Jeremy... Graduated with a degree in criminal justice in May, 2012... Working towards a second undergraduate degree (in accounting) in 2013... Born March 18.
