Did not allow a homer in 52 innings pitched in conference... Set a career-long run of 12.1 inningspitched without allowing a run over his first two starts of April... Did not allow an earned run in his first 15 innings pitched over three games to start the season, before giving up earned runs in his final 10 appearances... Long outing of the season came in back-to-back weekends, tossing six innings at George Washington on 4/29 and at Georgia Tech on 5/6... He threw over 100 pitches in those two outings... Gave up just one hit against GW in a 15-3 victory for his second win of the season... Fought a recurring blister on his pitching hand, which knocked him out of early-season appearances... Started the year with 5.1 innings of one-hit baseball in a 10-0 win in the opening weekend against Saint Peter's on 2/18... Finished the season with a 5.1-inning outing in the season finale, a 5-3 victory over St. Bonaventure on 5/19... It was Charlotte's lone win in a two-run game all season... Team was 6-6 in his 12 starts.

Tied for second in the Atlantic 10 with nine wins, finishing third with a 2.29 earned run average after 90.1 innings pitched... Team was 13-3 in his 16 games played (all starts)... Gave up one run or less 10 times (not allowing an earned run in six games)... Started two of Charlotte's 11 shutouts... Tossed one complete game (in 118 pitches), an 8-3 win over Fordham on April 24... Struck out season-high eight batters against Richmond in 7.2 innings on May 8... Allowed the fewest doubles and tied for the fewest extra-base hits of any of Charlotte's four starters... Allowed only two wild pitches, the fewest of the starting rotation... Also earned All-Conference honors in 2008 and 2009 for football, as the quarterback of the Red Tornadoes... Was an A-B Honor Roll Student, finished with a 3.5 GPA at Hickory High.
