Led the 49ers with seven home runs (most in a season at Charlotte since bat-rule changes for the 2011 season) and 30 walks... Also posted the lowest earned run average of a pitcher with 10 or more appearances, posting a 2.08 in relief appearances... Allowed two earned runs in 8.2 innings pitched, with his first career save in an 11-0 home win over USC Upstate... Had Charlotte's only two-homer game of the season, blasting two out in a home loss to Saint Joseph's... Team was 0-6 in games in which he hit a home run... Ended the season on a streak of 37 straight games reaching base safely, the longest active streak in the conference... Led Charlotte with batting averages of .337 with the bases empty and .500 (23-for-46) reaching base as the leadoff batter of an inning... 2011: NCAA All-Region (Tempe, Ariz.) With a flair for the dramatic, he saved his first career home run for the biggest stage, scoring the first runs of the NCAA Tempe, Ariz. on a two-run homer to put Charlotte up on No. 19 Arkansas, in a 3-2 win over the Razorbacks for Charlotte's third postseason victory... Scored game's first run after a walk in a 4-3 home win over No. 6 North Carolina on 3/29... Appeared in 27 games, making 15 starts for Charlotte as a position player, his first two-way season at Charlotte, and the only player to pitch and play a position in 2011... Turned in career-high three hits and tying career high with two runs scored in home game against Rhode Island on 3/26... Made two appearances on the mound, tossing two-thirds of an inning scoreless (allowing one hit and a hit batter)... Played 22 games at first, adding a pair of games as the designated hitter... Finished 0-for-6 with two walks and scoring four runs in nine games as a pinch hitter... Drove in two runs out of three runners at third with less than two out this season... 2010: Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, February 24. Won his first career start, a five-inning outing against High Point in the 2010 home opener... Allowed just three hits in that span... Made seven starts, with a 1-2 mark in those games (team was 4-3 in those games) and finished the season with four relief appearances (0-1 record, team was 3-1 in those games)... Struck out 23 batters in 24.2 innings pitched... Chancellor's List (Spring), Dean's List (Fall).
at East Rowan: Played for the Rowan County Legion Team that won the North Carolina State Title and advanced to its first appearance in the American Legion World Series since 1996... Rowan finished third in the country at the event... Three-time All-Conference and All-County player, earning an All-State award in 2008... Fourth player in past four seasons who played for coach Brian Hightower and the Mustangs (Spencer and Ross Steedley, Justin Roland)... Team was the 2008 regional champ and finished as the State Runner-Up... Was a scholar athlete all four years and an Honor Graduate at ERHS.
