He took normal batting practice and warm-up, attended the class, and returned to be inserted as a pinch hitter or defensive substitution to finish out the game...Led Charlotte with 26 stolen bases, fourth-most in the Atlantic 10 Conference, and 17 sacrifice bunts, second-most in the A-10... His 10 sacrifice bunt in conference games only were tied for first in the league, while his 14 A-10 stolen bases were third... 40 runs scored were third-most on the team and tied for ninth in the A-10... His 28 walks were second-most on the team and tied for 13th in the conference... Finished 1-for-3 as a pinch hitter and collected 11 of Charlotte's 31 bunt singles... Batted .500 (11-for-22) when bunting, logging the 17 sac bunts... Put together a career-high eight-game hit streak... Collected a career-high four hits, including a game-tying two-RBI double in the eighth inning in an 8-7 win at Xavier on 4/20... 2012: Led team with nine pinch-hit appearances... Got first hit of the season in tenth at bat, his first career triple at home against Wake Forest on 4/11... He eventually scored to give Charlotte the lead in the contest... Drew a walk, stole a base and scored first run of season in series finale at Xavier on 4/1... First RBI of the year came in game two of the Temple road series, an RBI single in the seventh in his only start of the season on 4/14... Had his only two-hit game of the season and the first two-double game of his career on 4/24 against Duke... One sacrifice bunt in one bunt attempt this season... All four season hits came in a three-appearance stretch... Chancellor's List (fall), Dean's List (spring).
2011: Appeared in 29 games, making three starts in the outfield, with 21 at bats... Hit first career home run, and drove in career-high three in road game at North Carolina Central on March 23... Homer was as a pinch hitter, the only pinch-hit home run hit by the team all season... Was one of his two pinch-hit base hits, tied with Justin Seager for the team lead... Had a career-high two hits twice, in second game of season at home to Coppin State and at Saint Louis on April 15... Led team with 11 pinch-running appearances, stealing one base as a pinch runner and scoring five times after being inserted on base... Scored winning run in bottom of ninth as pinch runner in 3-2 win over Missouri on February 26... Only player on team with at least one start who did not bat in the first inning... Dean's List (fall), Athletic Director's List (spring), Chancellor's List (fall '11)
2010: Made one start (in the outfield) and appeared in 19 games... Had four hits and two walks in 10 pinch-hit appearances, scoring two runs as a pinch hitter... Was 4-for-6 with two outs... Led team with four appearances as a pinch runner, scoring three times, including game-winning run over Rhode Island on May 28 at Atlantic 10 Tournament... Chancellor's List (Fall and Spring).
At Thomas Dale - Earned All-District three times for baseball and twice for football... Was a First-Team All-Region performer and earned two more Honorable Mention All-Region awards for baseball and achieved a Second-Team All-Region award and one Honorable Mention All-Region for football... Was a two-time All-Tri-Cities and All-Metro performer for baseball, as well as a two-year team captain on the baseball team, as well as acting as a team captain for one year on the football team after earning a pair of All-Tri-Cities awards and one All-Metro award on the gridiron ... Baseball program was 18-4 in 2009, earning a District Championship... He was Class President as a junior, and was a member of the National Honor Society and the National Beta Club, and earned Magna Cum Laude on the National Latin Exam.
