Streaks and trends

*New Mexico defeated Fresno State 89-78 to jump to 13-4 overall and 4-1 in the Mountain West and stay a game behind San Diego State for second place.

*The Lobos are 3-0 on the road in MW play, their best ever road start in MW play.  UNM did start 4-0 on the road in the WAC in 1984.

In-Game Notes

*The Lobos were down four at the 4:17 mark at 27-23 but shutout Fresno State over the rest of the half, going on a 10-0 run for a 33-27 halftime lead.

*UNM’s 13-0 run over the end of the first half and beginning of the second was its ninth of the season and it tied for the second-best run this season. 

*UNM’s 18-point advantage at 67-49 was the largest of the season for the Lobos on the road.

*In the first half, UNM committed four fouls, and Fresno State five.  In the second UNM was whistled for 21, and Fresno State 22.  After shooting five combined free throws in the first half, the two teams combined for 69 free throws in the second half.

*Fresno State got off 35 shots and 31 free throws…in the second half.

*UNM shot .531 for the game, the best shooting night for the Lobos in conference play this season.  It was the best shooting night since the Charleston Southern game when UNM shot .596 from the field.

*UNM scored 57 points in the second half, the second time this season they scored 57 (Charleston Southern).

Senior F Cameron Bairstow

*Scored 22 points for his 16th double-figure scoring game this season.

*It was his 11th 20-point game of the season.

*His 14 made free throws was a career-high, and his 19 attempts was the third-most in a Mountain West game in school history.  He has 20 earlier this season.

 Senior G Kendall Williams

*Scored 13 points to give him double-figures in all 17 games this season. 

*Tied Royce Olney with his 174th career three-pointer, good for a tie for ninth place.

*Moved ahead of Marlow White into ninth place with 450 three-point attempts.

*Moved ahead of former teammate Dairese Gary and into eighth place on the career steals chart with 163.

*Became the fourth player in school history with 500 career made free throws, as he now has 501.

*Moved ahead of Clayton Shields into 7th place on the career minutes list with 3,870.

 Junior G Deshawn Delaney

*Set his career-high with five assists.

Freshman G Cullen Neal

*Scored 17 points, the most off the bench by a Lobo this season, and his third-most overall this season.

*Had only scored 16 points in his previous four games.

Freshman C Obij Aget

*Played a career-high 13 minutes, scoring two points and grabbing three rebounds with an assist and a steal.
