DURHAM, N.C. - Freshman Michael Redlicki of the ninth-ranked Duke men's tennis team was named the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Player of the Week for the first time in his Duke career, as announced Tuesday by the conference office. Redlicki earned a 5-1 record in matches Friday and Sunday, helping the Blue Devils to wins over No. 14 Tennessee, No. 21 Michigan and cross-town foe North Carolina Central.

A product of Hawthorn Woods, Ill., Redlicki and doubles partner Jason Tahir posted a 2-0 record from the No. 1 and No. 2 positions in the lineup. The duo defeated Tennessee's Edward Jones and John Collins, 8-2, Friday on court two, while clinching the doubles point for the team from the No. 1 position against Michigan's No. 30 pair of Evan King and Shaun Bernstein, 8-5, Sunday. In the squad's second match Sunday against N.C. Central, Redlicki teamed with fellow freshman Daniel McCall at the No. 2 spot in the lineup and once again clinched the doubles point with an 8-2 win over Daniil Gerasimov and Jose Fabara.

Meanwhile in singles, Redlicki clinched the team's 5-2 win over 21st-ranked Wolverines Sunday from the No. 2 position in the lineup, posting a win in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4, over Alex Petrone. The rookie defeated Jose Fabara of N.C. Central, 6-1, 6-0, in the team's 7-0 sweep over the Eagles.

The Blue Devils will return to action against No. 8 Oklahoma at the ITA National Team Indoors, played from Feb. 15-18 in Seattle, Wash. The team posted a 3-1 record at the event last season.
