DURHAM, N.C. - Duke volleyball libero Ali McCurdy garnered AVCA Division I Honorable Mention All-America honors Wednesday as announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

A three-time All-ACC and All-East Region selection, McCurdy also picked up honorable mention All-America recognition for the third time in her career.

A 5-7 junior from Tampa, Fla., McCurdy once again led the conference in digs (672) and digs per set (5.25), securing both All-ACC and all-region honors in the process. For the second straight season, she set the school single-season digs record, topping her mark of 653 digs in 2011 with 672 in 2012. McCurdy amassed 20 or more digs in 16 matches this year while surpassing 30 digs three times. In addition, she surrendered just 23 receiving errors in 32 matches and anchored a Blue Devil defense that limited opponents to .192 hitting.

After three seasons in Durham, McCurdy is the only player in Duke history to average over five digs per set (5.27). She ended the 2012 campaign ranked second in the school career records with 1,927 digs and is on pace to become just the second Blue Devil to reach the 2,000 career digs plateau.
