DURHAM, N.C. - Duke sophomore wide receiver Jamison Crowder and redshirt senior quarterback Sean Renfree have earned ACC Player of
the Week citations, announced on Monday by the league office.
Crowder, a native of Monroe, N.C., caught eight passes for a
career-high 203 yards and two touchdowns in Duke's 52-45 loss to Miami this
past Saturday to earn the conference's Receiver of the Week nod. The
203-yard effort marks the seventh-highest single-game total in school history
and included an ACC record and NCAA record-matching 99-yard touchdown reception
A native of Scottsdale, Ariz., Renfree picked up his second
ACC Offensive Back of the Week accolade of the season after completing 36-of-59
passes for a career-high 432 yards with four touchdowns. The 432-yard
passing yardage total marks the eighth-highest single-game total in Duke
history as Renfree directed a Duke offense that ran 94 plays, compiled 583
yards of total offense and committed zero turnovers.
Other weekly award recipients include Miami's Duke Johnson
(Rookie), Florida State's Bjoern Werner (Defensive Lineman), Florida State's
Dustin Hopkins (Co-Specialist), Virgina's Steve Greer (Linebacker), Clemson's
Xavier Brewer (Defensive Back) and Maryland's Stefon Diggs (Co-Specialist).
