WILMINGTON, N.C. - Due to inclement weather on Saturday in Wilmington, N.C., the second round of the Landfall Tradition was suspended with the Duke women's golf team in the lead, after playing 9-11 holes at the at the 6,138-yard, par 72 Country Club of Landfall.
The Blue Devils had a solid morning shooting a two-over-par and is seven-over-par heading into Sunday's action. Duke holes a four-stroke lead over first round leader Oklahoma State (+11). Notre Dame (+14), Iowa State (+17), Arizona (+19), Texas Tech (+19), Michigan State (+21), Purdue (+25), Wake Forest (+25) and South Carolina (+26) round out the top 10.
Freshman Celine Boutier continues to lead the Blue Devils with a two-under-par score through 27 holes and is only one shot off individual leader Lindsey Weaver of Notre Dame. Boutier, who is out of France, is one-under-par in the second round through nine holes. She has tallied three birdies in the round; including two on the par three holes.
With an even-par ledger through 28 holes, junior Laetitia Beck is fourth overall. A product of Caesarea, Israel, Beck has one birdie, one bogey and eight pars in the second round. Lindy Duncan, who is out of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is tied for 12th with a three-over-par ledger. In the second round, Duncan is one-over-par, after notching a birdie on the first hole and played two-over-par the next 10 holes.
Junior Alejandra Cangrejo will enter Sunday's action tied for 32nd (+6), while sophomore Irene Jung is tied for 70th (+13). Playing as an individual, senior Stacey Kim is tied for 12th with a three-over-par score. The native of Columbus, Ga., has played 10 holes in the second round and is two-over-par.
The second round will resume at 9:30 a.m., with a shotgun start. The third round has been cancelled.
