DURHAM, N.C. – Duke University Campus Recreation will host the first annual 4v4 “Play for 8” flag football tournament on Friday, October 5. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Blair Holliday Recovery Fund.
The tournament, which will take place on Duke’s West Campus turf fields adjacent to Koskinen Stadium, is scheduled to run from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Participation cost is $5 per person with a maximum of six players per team. Individual players are welcome and will be placed on a team. Two divisions are available for males – competitive and recreational – along with a division for females. All participants will receive a t-shirt and teams are guaranteed a minimum of two games. Champions of each division will be awarded with the “Play for 8” Tournament Trophy.
In addition, a “Punt-Pass Challenge” will be held with combined yardage determining the winners. Both female and male champions will be honored.
