PRINCETON, N.J. – The Saint Joseph’s women’s track and field squad scored its 4x400m relay at the 2019 ECAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, held at Princeton University’s Weaver Stadium this weekend. The Hawks finished in a tie for 40th among all scored programs.

The quartet of junior Tamar Bourdeau, junior Karley Hess, senior captain Bridget McNierney, and junior Sophia Recchilungo recorded a time of 3:56.58, which was good for a sixth-place, three-point finish in a field of 12 squads.

The All-ECAC performance marks just the third time in program history that SJU’s 4x400m relay placed in the outdoor ECAC’s top eight, joining the 4x4 from 2017 that earned the bronze and the 4x4 from 2016 that placed sixth.

Individually, senior captain Elaine Estes cruised through her 5000m race in 17:13.38 on Saturday evening, which was good for 10th place in a field of 16 to just miss a scoring performance by under four seconds, while McNierney placed 14th in a 400m hurdles field of 31, crossing in 1:03.72 on Sunday afternoon.

Saint Joseph’s 4x100m relay group of junior Aliyah Stokes, McNierney, senior captain Kelly Liebl, and Bourdeau crossed in 47.81 for 14th in a field of 20 on Saturday afternoon while the 4x800m relay group of junior Monica Higgins, sophomore Abigail Silva, junior Emily Bracken, and senior captain Lucy Harmon crossed in 9:26.85, good for 10th in a field of 16 squads; the latter quartet just missed scoring by just under eight seconds.

Senior captains Nathaniela Bourdeau and Lindsey Oremus did not compete in what would have been their final collegiate races due to injury.

The meet concludes the 2018-19 track and field season for the Crimson and Gray.
