LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Regina Marquez, a senior from Santa Teresa High School, has signed a national letter of intent to run cross country and track at New Mexico State starting in 2015-16.
Marquez is a four-year letterman and posted her best time of 18:11 in the three mile. In her track career, Marquez recorded her best time of 11:34 in the 3200-meter and a 5:14 in the 1600-meter.
“We are extremely excited that Regina will be joining our women’s cross country program,” assistant coach Chris Huff said. “Over the past few years, Coach Solis has had tremendous success at developing strong distance women at Santa Teresa.”
The Aggies finished their 2014 season at the NCAA regional with the women finishing 18th overall. The NM State women’s track season begins on Jan. 16 in Lubbock, Texas at the Texas Tech Open.
