The Sam Houston State women’s golf team has announced the signing of Cari Denson from Hankamer, Texas. Denson, a senior at Southeast Christian School in Mont Belvieu, is ranked No. 19 in Texas on Junior Golf Scoreboard.

“We are very fortunate to have Cari join our Bearkat golf family,” said head coach Brandt Kieschnick. “She’s one of the hardest working players we’ve seen in the junior ranks and we are excited to start her career here at Sam Houston State University.”

Denson won the 2019 STPGA Bay Forest Junior Championship firing 77-71. She was third at the 2019 Texas Jr Masters/IMG World Qualifier with rounds of 69-69-76 and also third at the 2019 LJT TJGA Invitational firing 74-72. At the TJGT Region IV Showcase at the Republic she finished fourth with rounds of 74-74 and was 11th at 2019 Legends Junior Tour George Hannon Invitational firing 76-78.

“We’ve watched Cari grow in her game and she came on very strong this summer and she will be a great fit along with helping us to continue to win championships,” said women’s coach Tommy Chain.
