A month after winning her first tournament, freshman golfer Viera Permata Rosada earned her first individual recognition. On Wednesday, Rosada was named the Southland Conference Golfer of the Month for October.
Rosada and the Bearkats competed in just one event in October, the Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Hawaii. The freshman closed the tournament with a final round 69 to jump to second place on the final leader board.
She opened with rounds of 71 and 72 before he final round 69. She finished at 4-under for the three-day event. The round of 69 matched her low for the season.
It was the second straight tournament for Rosada with a stellar showing. She won the Huntsville Toyota Bearkat Invitational at High Meadow Ranch in Magnolia at the end of September.
The Bearkats are finished playing for the fall semester and will resume the season in February at Texas State.
