Dover, Del. (Nov. 8, 2018) --- The Delaware State volleyball team will close out its 2018 season with two MEAC home contests. The Hornets will take on Morgan State on Friday beginning at 6:00 pm and wrap up the season with a Sunday match against Coppin State at 3:00 pm.

The Sunday match will also mark the final Memorial Hall appearance for DSU seniors Sydney Armbrister and Mia Taula.

Armbrister joined the Hornets in 2015. She enters the weekend with 369 kills and 93 blocks at DSU. She was second on the Hornets with 164 kills as a junior in 2017 and ranks fifth on the club with 119 this season.

Taula, a two-year DSU letterwinner, has ranked among the MEAC leaders in digs this season. This year, she’s ninth in the league at 2.92 per set, totaling 269 digs in 92 sets. Last season, she was second on the Hornets with 192 digs.

Delaware State setter Milexa Cardona (fr.) ranks among the top 10 in the MEAC in two statistical categories. Cardona is ninth in the league in service aces at 0.35 per set (32 total) and is 10th in the league in assists at 6.86 per set (631 total).

The Hornets (2-25; 0-8 MEAC) are trying to avenge losses to Morgan State and Coppin State the first time they met the teams this season. The Hornets fell to Morgan 3-0 on Oct. 12 in Baltimore, Md., and dropped a 3-1 decision to Coppin in Baltimore two days later.
