GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG volleyball head coach Corey Carlin announced the addition of three players to the program for the upcoming 2019 season, including Camille Anderson, Grey Breen and Brittany Wood. The trio joins previous signees Hannah Knier, Elayne Grisbee and Gabby McHugh, giving the Spartans six newcomers on the season.

A three-year varsity letter winner, Anderson emerged with 290 digs and 283 kills in 2016, where she was named All-Area under head coach Enrique Wiseman. Two years later, after missing the 2017 season due to injury, Anderson came through with 216 kills and 54 digs en route to a Second Team All-Area honor.
Anderson also competed on the club volleyball circuit for Ocala Power United 18 Rox, under the direction of head coach Jeff Reavis. Her club volleyball career also included stints with Gainesville Juniors (2011-15) and OTVA (Orlando-Tampa Volleyball Academy) in 2014-16, where she was recognized as an AAU All-American. Prior to playing at Ocala, Anderson spent the 2016-17 seasons for Top Select, qualifying for the USAV National in the Open Division in 2017.
Anderson comes from an athletic background that includes her father Neal, who played running back for the Chicago Bears and her brother, who is currently playing soccer at Florida Gulf Coast University.

CARLIN ON ANDERSON SIGNING: "There are several things that stood out about Camille during the recruiting process. First, she's extremely athletic. She has also shown a very high motor and competitive drive, which was very evident when we saw her play last summer. She's a very intelligent player with a great work ethic and there's no doubt she has the attributes to play at a high level in the Southern Conference."

Decatur High School | Atlanta, Ga.
Breen, a two-time letter winner, was a dominate force for Decatur as she led the team in blocks as both a junior and senior under head coach Yvette Battles. In her senior season, Breen also led the way for the Bulldogs in kills, earning Offensive Player of the Year honors.
Breen was instrumental in guiding Decatur to a 33-11 record and a spot in the Sweet 16 in 2017. The Bulldogs equaled that feat in 2018, finishing 32-13, and captured the Dekalb County Regional Tournament.
Breen, who began playing volleyball as a high school sophomore, played on the Tsunami Volleyball Club for one year and the A5 Volleyball Club for two years, both under the direction of Boba Nisavic. Her team reached the USAV National Championships in both 2018 and 2019.
Breen’s father was a walk-on basketball player at Florida State (1992-93) and her mother played field hockey while at Boston University (2000-04), capturing a pair of All-America honors.

CARLIN ON BREEN SIGNING: “Grey has a very interesting story. She started her volleyball path a bit later than most but has really committed herself to learning the game quickly over the past few years. She’s a terrific teammate and it’s easy to see how much she enjoys the game. She has embraced higher level training this year and has a natural skill set that will help her advance her game even further at the collegiate level.”

Broughton High School | Raleigh, N.C.
She was named to Cap 7 All-Conference team on three occasions, an All-State selection and to the Prep Volleyball All-American team after playing under the direction of Jim Freeman. After her senior season, which resulted in a 15-7 record, Wood was named All-Region by the North Carolina Volleyball Coaches Association.
Wood’s prep career began at Jack Britt High School, where she finished 22-4. The following season she attended Freedom Christian, capping off the year 29-1. Her junior campaign was at Broughton, which finished 17-5.
Wood has competed six years for Triangle Volleyball Club, playing under the direction of Jim Freeman and Keisha Demps.

CARLIN ON WOOD SIGNING: “Brittany has a very businesslike approach. She is a very responsible young lady that is willing to work. She has always had a very good skill set but she raised her game to a higher level this spring which was great to see. I’m very much looking forward to seeing her reach her full potential in our program.”
