Cahana Captures State Title

RICHMOND, VA -- Current Old Dominion tennis All-American, Nataly Cahana (Quriat Balik, Israel), won the women's singles championship and teamed with former Monarch, Mily Kannarkat (Va Beach, VA), to win the women's doubles championship at the Sun Trust Virginia State Tournament held at the Raintree Swim and Rackclub in Richmond Virginia.

The tournament, directed by by Eddie Parker, was held August 3rd - 10th.

In addition, former Monarch standout Scott Steinhour and Tami Riehm had outstanding results. Scott the current tennis director at Salisbury Country Club in Richmond, VA reached the semifinals of the singles and was a doubles finalist with his brother Sean. Tami reached the women's doubles semi finals with partner Margie Walsh.

Associate Coach, John Hill, was a finalist in the mixed doubles.

All four of the Monarchs who participated were named MVP's for their respective teams (Nataly Cahana 2001, Mily Kannarkat 1999,2002, Tami Riehm 1993, Scott Steinhour 1990)
