NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino and second baseman Bryce Windham were both selected on the third day of the 2019 MLB First-Year Player Draft on Wednesday afternoon.

The Kansas City Royals took Pasquantino in the 11th round with the 319th overall pick. Pasquantino is just the fourth Monarch to be taken all-time by the Royals. The junior was named to the 2019 All-C-USA First Team All-Conference. Pasquantino batted .302 with 55 RBIs, nine doubles and has hit 16 home runs. He started every game for ODU during the 2019 season. The Virginia native compiled 24 home runs in his three-year career.

Windham was drafted 972nd overall pick by the Chicago Cubs in the 32nd round. Windham is the seventh Monarch selected by the Cubs all-time. The senior completed his Monarch career with a .338 batting average in 2019, which led the team. The Michigan native started in all 56 games for ODU and was named to the 2019 All-C-USA Second Team All-Conference. Windham joins Jared Young (2017) as the most recent second baseman from ODU to be selected by the Cubs.
