Lady Monarchs Topple UNC-Greensboro, 7-0

NEWPORT NEWS, VA (Feb. 9, 2001) -- The Old Dominion women's tennis team collected a 7-0 sweep of UNC-Greensboro Friday afternoon at the Centre Court Racquet Club in Newport News. With the win, the Lady Monarchs improve to 3-1 overall (0-1 CAA) while UNC-Greensboro falls to 1-5.

Old Dominion started the match by sweeping all three doubles contests and claiming the doubles point. The Lady Monarchs then went on to sweep singles play behind fourth-ranked freshman sensation Nataly Cahana (Qiriat Bialik, Israel) and sophomore Mily Kannarkat (Virginia Becah, Va.), who both improved to 4-0 in spring singles play.

The Lady Monarchs will host James Madison Friday, February 16 at 1 pm in a CAA match played at Centre Court Racquet Club in Newport News.
