Women's Tennis Falls to N.C. State at Home, 6-1

NORFOLK, Va. -- Junior Nadine Fahoum (Haifa, Israel) earned another victory over a ranked opponent, improving to 12-0 in duals this season, but the 60th ranked Lady Monarchs lost to North Carolina State, 6-1.

Fahoum, ranked 21st in the nation, knocked off her seventh nationally ranked opponent of the 2009-10 season when she defeated #45 Sandhya Nagaraj at No. 1 singles. The ODU junior won 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 on Sunday.

Joanna Dobrowolska (Warsaw, Poland) joined Fahoum at No. 1 doubles for their 14th win as a tandem this season. It was the first loss for Nagaraj and her teammate Daria Petrovic in doubles play this season, but the Wolfpack would win at No. 2 and 3 for the doubles point.

Rookie Diana Ivanova (Moscow, Russia) stretched her opponent, Petrovic, at No. 4 singles to a third set, but was unable to win in the tiebreaker. She lost 6-2, 1-6, 7-5.

Old Dominion returns to action in two weeks, as they take on Iowa State at home on February 27 before traveling to Virginia on February 28.
