Updated Spring Rowing Schedule

NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion women's rowing team has released an updated 2010 Spring Schedule. On tap for the Lady Monarchs this spring are races with Nova Southeastern and Central Florida during their spring break training trip, hitting the water against Alabama, Oklahoma, Bucknell, and Kansas, and appearances in the Kerr Cup, Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championships, and the Dad Vail Regatta.

The ODU women's rowers will travel to the Sunshine State from March 5th - 14th for its spring training trip. While in Florida, the Lady Monarchs will take on Nova Southeastern in Cocoa Beach on March 11th and Central Florida in Orlando on March 12th.

Added to the spring schedule is the Occoquan Sprints in Fairfax Station on March 28th.

The Lady Monarchs will then hit the water against Alabama and Oklahoma on April 3rd in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and meet up with Bucknell and Kansas in Lewisberry, Pennsylvania the following week on April 10th.

ODU returns to the Kerr Cup on April 17th in Philadelphia. Last season, the Lady Monarchs' Varsity Women's 4 won the Grand Final

On April 25th, the Lady Monarchs compete for the CAA CHampionships in Fairfax Station and the 2010 spring schedule comes to a close at the prestigious Dad Vail Regatta May 7th - 8th in Philadelphia. At last year's Dad Vail, the Frosh/Novice 8 boat brought home a silver medal, while the Varsity 4 reached the semi-finals.

During the fall, the ODU women's rowing team had three boats claim the top three positions at the Head of the Lafayette (Varsity, Frosh A, Frosh B) and the Novice 8 win the Head of the Hooch.
