ALBANY, N.Y. - University at Albany women’s lacrosse head coach Katie Rowan and her assistants, Taylor Frink and Leah Gallagher, will serve as assistants on the U19 Haudenosaunee women’s national team for the U19 World Championships starting August 1.
The championships will take place in Peterborough, Canada, and feature 22 teams competing in five round-robin groups before a knockout round.
Rowan, Frink, and Gallagher will serve under Haudenosaunee head coach Ronnie Davis, former head coach of Monroe Community College women’s lacrosse.
Canada is the defending champion from the last U19 World Cup in 2015 in Scotland. The U19 Haudenosaunee women’s team last competed in the 2011 World Cup in Germany.
The U19 Haudenosaunee national team will play in Pool E, featuring Israel, Hong Kong, Belgium, and Puerto Rico, and will play in the tournament's opening game at 9:30 a.m. on August 1 against Belgium. The knockout round begins August 6.
