Dear Cougar Fans,

For the 12th-consecutive semester, the average grade-point average for all student-athletes in all 19-varsity sports at College of Charleston was above a 3.0. To achieve this milestone, approximately 65 percent of our student-athletes earned a 3.0 GPA or better for the semester. In addition, 16 student-athletes achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA, 26 achieved at least a 3.75 GPA and 64 earned at least a 3.5 GPA.

We congratulate all of our student-athletes who achieved Honor Roll status this past school year. We also congratulate our outstanding Student-Athlete Academic Services (SAAS) support staff of director Keith Merritt II, associate director Kate Tiller and academic advisor and student-athlete affairs coordinator Kristin Rusboldt, who work tirelessly to help our student-athletes stay on task.

Our ultimate academic goal is graduation. Last month, director of athletics communications Marlene Navor photographed, wrote and published our story about May Commencement and our graduating student-athletes and student support group members ranging from cheer and dance to athletic training.

No athletics program in the nation covers graduation better than CofC. We congratulate our student-athletes and student support group members on their graduation and we thank Marlene for her incredible diligence in capturing commencement in such a beautiful way.

Majors of each graduate, along with cum laude honors, are listed in the story. Hopefully, many of you saw it when it ran originally, but it is linked below in case you missed it or want to see it again.
