Excellent outside shooter who went from walk-on to scoring 1,000 points and becoming one of the top 3-point shooter in MWC history 1,067 career points, No. 23 all-time at UNM a member of the 1,000-point club despite starting just 28 times in his 127-game career...that's the fewest starts for any player with 1,000 points 2nd all-time at UNM and 3rd in MWC history with 266 3s career 43.9% from behind the arc is No. 3 at UNM top-10 in the nation in 3-pt. FG% in 2007 (46.4%) and 2008 (48%) 798 of his 1,067 points (75%) have come from 3-pointers also 8th all-time at UNM in FT accuracy at 80.8% (139-172) won the 2009 Lobo Award for his work on the court, in the classroom and in the community three-time Academic All-MWC selection Recipient of the Gabe Nava Memorial Scholarship Endowment.
2008-09 SENIOR SEASON

Started just one game, but averaged 10.8 points, third-best on the team

UNM was 16-4 when he scored in double figures, including 9-0 in MWC games

2007-08 JUNIOR SEASON
Honorable mention All-MWC honors after finishing second on the team in scoring at 10.3 ppg shot 48.0% (85-177) from 3-pt. range which was 2nd in the nation and led the MWC league-high 49.4% (44-89) from 3-pt. in MWC games, the 4th highest percentage in MWC history for a conference season all four of his 20+ games came off the bench Academic All-MWC.
2006-07 SOPHOMORE SEASON
Third on the team in scoring at 9.5 ppg shot 46.4% (85-183) from behind the arc, 9th best in the nation second in the MWC in 3-pt. FGs and 5th in 3-pt. FG% only player to rank in the top-5 in both categories scored 20 points four times, including twice in the last five games hit 6 3s in a game three times drew 20 charges to lead the team Academic All-MWC.

Born November 11, 1985 son of Bob and Linda Toppert full name is Chad Lee Toppert both parents played basketball at UNM has one brother, Cody, who played basketball at Cornell and for the Albuquerque Thunderbirds in the NBDL will graduate in May 2009 with a bachelor's degree in Business
