ATLANTA—Any Georgia State student interested in men’s basketball tryouts should review the information below. All participants must meet all requirements and follow all procedures to have the opportunity to try out.

ONLY currently enrolled, full-time Georgia State students (downtown Atlanta campus only) with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 can participate in tryouts. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Tryouts are scheduled for Aug. 28 and 29 (if invited back), at the Georgia State Sports Arena from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. each day.

Before trying out, all participants must be evaluated by the academic, compliance and sports medicine staffs and have those signatures on file before registration.

Participants MUST print and complete the attached COMPLIANCE and MEDICAL forms and bring completed forms to the registration session. Click here to download the information. A sickle cell waiver must be completed as well.

Any student who has just transferred to Georgia State from a 4-year institution must be in the NCAA transfer portal. All 4-year transfers will not be eligible if they do not have a release or are not in the transfer portal.

Tuesday, Aug. 27, 3-5 p.m. - In order to be cleared to participate, you must stop by the GSU Sports arena between from 3 to 5 p.m. to complete the necessary paperwork (compliance, academics, and training staff will be available during that time).

Wednesday, Aug. 28, 6:30 a.m. For those who are cleared to participate from Tuesday registration, meet at the Georgia State Sports Arena (125 Decatur Street, Atlanta, GA 30303).

After eight weeks of summer practice and instruction, Georgia State will return to the court in mid-September for the start of practice for the upcoming season.
