ATLANTA—Playing a 20-game league schedule that will start in December, Georgia State announced its 2019-20 Sun Belt Conference schedule on Tuesday. The back-to-back Sun Belt Conference champions will play all but two members of the league twice each beginning Dec. 19.

Under first-year head coach Rob Lanier, Georgia State will open conference play at home on Dec. 19, against UT Arlington in a rematch of last year’s Sun Belt Conference tournament championship game which the Panthers won to advance to a third NCAA Tournament in five seasons.

The Panthers are coming off a second-straight 24-win season in which they won the league’s regular-season title on the final day of the season, earning a win over in-state rival Georgia Southern in Statesboro.

After the opener against UT Arlington, the Panthers will host Texas State on Dec. 21, before the holiday break.

Immediately after the break, the Panthers will embark on a three-game, five-day road trip that will include games at Appalachian State (Jan. 2), Coastal Carolina (Jan. 4), and Arkansas State (Jan. 6).

Georgia State will return home to face Louisiana (Jan. 9) and UL Monroe (Jan. 11), before road games at South Alabama (Jan. 16), Troy (Jan. 18), and Georgia Southern (Jan. 25).

South Alabama (Jan. 30) and Troy (Feb. 1) will follow by returning to the GSU Sports Arena, before the Panthers travel to face Louisiana (Feb. 6) and UL Monroe (Feb. 8) as the month heats up.

For the first time in three seasons, Appalachian State (Feb. 13) and Coastal Carolina (Feb. 15) will make trips to the GSU Sports Arena. The Panthers will follow that homestand with a trip to Texas to face UT Arlington (Feb. 20) and Texas State (Feb. 22).

The final homestand of the year will see the Panthers face Georgia Southern on Feb. 29, before closing out the regular season with Little Rock on March 3, for Senior Day.

With a new bracket this year, the Sun Belt Conference Championship will begin on March 7 at campus sites. The top two teams in the league will receive byes into the semifinals beginning March 14 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, La.

Games times of all games will be announced at a later date.

Georgia State is finishing up its final week of summer instruction. The Panthers will return to the court in mid-September for the start of practice for the upcoming season.
