Georgia State women's volleyball swept ULM in front of a home crowd Friday evening. This win marks the second consecutive conference victory for the Panthers and elevates the team to 3-4 in Sun Belt play.

Leah Wilcox recorded her fourth double-digit kill performance of the season with 12 on the night. Cierra Sillmon led the defensive effort at the net with six blocks.

In the opening frame the squads would go back and forth, knotting the match 12 times. Hadzic and Wilcox would post four kills for the Panthers. A solo block from Sillmon would take the Panthers to set point. GSU would clinch the first set 26-24.

Georgia State would score seven unanswered points in the beginning of the second. The Warhawks would attempt to build momentum with kills short in GSU territory, but serving and hitting errors would prevent them from closing the gap. The Panthers would cruise to a 25-14 win.

The Warhawks would respond with two scoring runs to start the third, which put the Panthers down by five. Hadzic would post two serving aces en route to tying the game 10-10. Hehr would dish out assists to hitters at every position to keep the ULM defense scrambling. The Panthers would go on a 9-0 run to extend the lead. A kill by senior Sydney Stroud secured the 25-22 set victory and the match.

The Panthers return to the GSU Sports Arena on Sunday to face the Ragin’ Cajuns of Louisiana. Action is slated for noon. Fans can follow along with live stats and PantherVision.
