ATLANTA, Ga.- Another semester at Georgia State is behind us, and once again the GSU Volleyball team performed tremendously well in the classroom. The team finished with a 3.51 combined GPA and nine Panthers received individual academic accolades.
Seven players earned a spot on the President’s List, reserved for students who have a 4.00 or higher GPA. Freshmen Faith Collector and Lauren Bandera finished their first year strong landing on the President’s List. Joining the pair of freshmen was a trio of juniors, Madelynn Ott, Morgan Hash, and Sydney Stroud; as well as seniors Crystal Lee and Carley Eiken.
Senior Anna Rantala and sophomore Cierra Sillmon both earned a spot on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll, reserved for student athletes that post above a 3.00 GPA. The team’s 3.51 spring effort combined with a 3.66 in the fall gives GSU volleyball a 3.58 mark for the 2018-19 school year.
“I am so proud of the hard work that our team put forth toward academics and training this spring”, said coach Sally Polhamus. “Their academic expectations and goals have raised the bar for our program, and for who we are as student athletes.
