Bird, de La Bruyere, Fluehr and Team Capture All-Academic Honors
PRINCETON, N.J. (3/1/16) - Senior Emily de La Bruyere, senior Kathryn Fluehr and junior Lizzie Bird have earned all-academic honors by the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) in the sport of women's cross country.
de La Bruyere was the runner-up at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional. She earned academic All-Ivy honors and was fourth at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championship to earn first team All-Ivy honors as the Tigers captured the Ivy Heps title.
Bird won the Ivy Heps individual title and was third overall at the Mid-Atlantic Regional. She went on to place 58th at the NCAA Championships, and was also an Academic All-Ivy selection.
Fluehr was sixth at Heps to earn first-team All-Ivy honors. She finished 13th at Regionals and was 81st at the NCAA Championships.
To be eligible for the award a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.25 cumulative grade point average and earn All-America status or finish in the 25 at the regional meet.
The Princeton women's cross country team was also honored as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team. The team qualified with a cumulative GPA of 3.48, for the eighth consecutive season.
