At Princeton — 2015-16 (3-16, 1-6 Ivy): played in the top third of the lineup and debuted at the No. 1 spot … earned regular season wins over both Williams and Brown … won a match in the CSA Individual Championships (Molloy Cup) … played between 1-3 throughout the season.

Before Princeton — ranked in the Top 5 at the U-17 level … reached the Round of 16 in the U.S. Open … won the Frank Millet JCT … served as captain of the Milton Academy team, which finished as runner-up in the league and placed in the Top 15 at Nationals … lettered in cross country.

Personal — born May 17, 1996 … son of Joseph Cortes and Sarah McVity Cortes … has two older sisters, Cecilia and Casey ’13; Casey was the co-captain on the 2013 Ivy League champion Princeton women’s squash team and won more than 40 matches during her career … Cecilia played squash at Harvard … enjoys music and movies … considering studying English Literature and East Asian Languages.
