Spring Academic All-Ivy League Announced

The Ivy League has announced its 2016 spring Academic All-Ivy League honorees. Each school selected 10 honorees, five men and five women, based on GPA and athletic accomplishments.

Princeton's 10 honorees are below:

Men’s
Chad Powers, Jr., Baseball, La Cañada, Calif., mechanical and aerospace engineering
2016 Ivy League Pitcher of the Year

Eric Mitchell, So., Golf, Winston-Salem, N.C., computer science
2016 second-team All-Ivy League

Bear Goldstein, Jr., Lacrosse, Dallas, Texas, psychology
2016 honorable mention All-Ivy League

Chris Cook, Jr., Track & Field, New York, N.Y., classics
2016 first-team All-Ivy League in shot put

Martin Barakso, Sr., Heavyweight Rowing, Nanaimo, B.C., history
Helped varsity eight to a Rowe Cup win and an IRA bronze

Women’s
Alexandra Wong, Sr., Golf, San Francisco, Calif., Woodrow Wilson School
2016 second-team All-Ivy League

Helena Van Brande, So., Water Polo, Newbury Park, Calif., comparative literature
Started 21 of 26 games in 2016, accruing a 15-6 record

Olivia Hompe, Jr., Lacrosse, New Canaan, Conn., Woodrow Wilson School
2016 IWLCA third-team All-America, first-team All-Ivy League

Ellie DeGarmo, Jr., Lacrosse, Baltimore, Md., Woodrow Wilson School
2016 IWLCA first-team All-America, Ivy League Defender of the Year
