Regular-Season Finale Sends Men's Tennis to Penn Saturday
The regular season will come to a close for the Princeton men's tennis team Saturday at Penn. First serve in Philadelphia is scheduled for 1 p.m.
The Tigers will wrap a season that saw the team, currently ranked 48th in the nation, face 13 ITA-ranked programs and win six of those contests. Among those was a win over then-No. 24 Penn State, the second-highest ranked program Princeton has defeated in head coach Billy Pate's three-plus seasons behind only No. 22 Harvard last season.
The match also gives Princeton the opportunity to end the regular season on a high note after a pair of difficult weekends that followed a 2-0 league start. Columbia wrapped up its third straight Ivy League title last Sunday in a weekend that begin with a 4-0 home victory over Princeton that clinched at share of the league crown before the Lions claimed the outright title by beating Penn Sunday.
Princeton will be able to return its full usual lineup next season from a roster that includes four sophomores and four juniors among the 11 players.
