DURHAM, N.C. – With two years under its belt, the Duke softball program opens year three with the announcement of its 2019 fall schedule.
The Blue Devils’ list of fall games consists of eight contests in the month of October. Duke will host three games at the Duke Softball Stadium and play two regular season opponents from last year: Campbell and East Carolina.
Duke opens the fall slate with a doubleheader on Saturday, Oct. 5 in Wilmington, N.C. Team Three will play East Carolina at noon and UNC-Wilmington at 2:30 p.m.
Head coach Marissa Young’s squad will take its longest trip of the fall on Sunday, Oct. 13 as the Blue Devils travel to Knoxville to face the Tennessee Volunteers.
Following a trip to the Volunteer state, Duke hosts two games at Duke Softball Stadium on Oct. 17 and the 19. First, Duke will play crosstown foe North Carolina Central on Thursday, Oct. 17 at 6:30 p.m. Two days later, on Oct. 19, Duke hosts Charlotte at 1 p.m.
Duke has a pair of quick trips to Greensboro on Sunday, Oct. 20 for a game against UNC-Greensboro at 2 p.m. and to Buies Creek for a game against Campbell on Friday, Oct. 25 before returning home to close out the fall slate. On Saturday, Oct. 26, Duke will host Winthrop at 2 p.m.
