DURHAM, N.C.— In the last home contest against Liberty, Duke women’s basketball head coach Joanne P. McCallie reached the 600-win mark as the Blue Devils totaled a 68-51 victory in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
McCallie, who is in her 11th year at Duke, opened her collegiate career at Maine and spent six years totaling 167 victories. She moved on to Michigan State where Coach P led the Spartans to 149 wins over seven years. McCallie has collected 284 victories over her 11 years at Duke, including three ACC Championships.
Coach P became the 15th fastest women’s basketball coach to reach 600 wins, accomplishing it in only 821 games. She was the 10th quickest coach to reach 600 wins in her 26th season and is the 39th overall coach to win 600 games.
