• Duke returns home after a two-game road swing to host N.C. Central in the Bull City Gridiron Classic ... Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m., with coverage from ACC Network Extra
• Beginning with this week’s contest versus N.C. Central, an “MD” helmet decal will be donned by the Blue Devils to honor Duke Athletics Hall of Fame member Mary Dinkins, who passed away on Tuesday, September 4, at the age of 68
• This week, Duke celebrates Homecoming, Scout Day, Hall of Fame Day and Employee Appreciation Day ... Ameritas serves as the official game sponsor ... In addition, Duke partners with the College Football Playoff to recognize the Extra Yard for Teachers program by wearing helmet decals
• On Friday night, the 29th class will be inducted into the Duke Athletics Hall of Fame ... The group of eight individuals also will be honored on the field between the first and second quarters during Saturday’s football game ... This year’s enshrinees include Elton Brand (basketball), Katie Chrest Erbe (lacrosse), Candy Hannemann (golf), Lindsey Harding (basketball), Bob Harris (broadcaster), Ryan Jackson (baseball), Randy Jones (football & track) and Shelden Williams (basketball)
• Last week, Duke improved to 3-0 on the season with a 40-27 road win over Baylor behind three TD passes from QB Quentin Harris, who was making the first start of his career ... With the victory, Duke became the only Power 5 team nationally to post multiple road wins over Power 5 opponents this season
• Saturday’s game will mark the seventh on the gridiron between Duke and N.C. Central ... The Blue Devils have won all six prior meetings
