DURHAM, N.C. – Duke men’s tennis junior Nick Stachowiak was named to the Second Team All-ACC team Thursday afternoon.
The honor is Stachowiak’s second All-ACC nod in his career, as he earned third team last season as a sophomore.
The Cary, N.C., native finished the 2018-19 season 13-10 overall in singles play and 12-10 in doubles action. His 13 singles wins were second on the team and he finished the spring season with an 8-8 record, all on court one.
Stachowiak ranked No. 26 on February 6 in the first spring Oracle/ITA Division I Men’s Rankings, and stayed ranked throughout the entire spring season. He earned his first top-10 victory of his career over No. 10 Alex Brown of Illinois February 1, with a straight-set 6-2, 6-3 win on court one. The junior teamed up with senior teammate Jason Lapidus at first doubles, compiling a 7-5 dual doubles record and a 4-4 conference mark.
Stachowiak is 70-33 in singles play for his career and 55-35 in doubles. His double-digit wins in both singles and doubles play this season are the third straight for each respective category.
