RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – After four rounds of stage I LPGA and Symetra Tour Qualifying, Duke University senior Ana Belac will be advancing on to stage II as she turned in rounds of 72, 71, 74 and 70 for a one-under-par, 287, which was tied for 21st overall at the Dinah Shore and Palmer Courses in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
Belac, a product of Portoroz, Slovenia, collected birdies on No. 14, No. 16 and No. 17 to finish strong with a final round of 70 to close the event. She totaled 13 birdies over the 72 holes of action.
A total of 96 golfers advanced to stage II qualifying, which will take place Oct. 12-17 at Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Fla.
Duke alumna Alejandra Cangrejo posted rounds of 71, 72, 76 and 76 and did not advance, while junior Miranda Wang missed the 54-hole cut with rounds of 74, 75 and 74. Bianca Pagdanganan earned medalist honors with a 13-under-par, 275.
Duke will open the 2019-20 season Sept. 16-18 in Lake Elmo, Minn., for the ANNIKA Intercollegiate.
