Keydets Complete Day One of Loyola Invite
BALTIMORE, Md. – The VMI men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams finished the first day of competition at the Loyola University H2ounds Invitational Friday, with five other teams in the field.
Sophomore Sophie Svoboda finished the 200 IM ninth in 2:11.89. Sarah MacDougall swam a 26.36 in the 50 free for 34th place.
Jack Sheehan placed 12th in the men’s 200 IM in 1:55.22 and Kai Green was 17th in the 50 free in 21.82. Bridger Thurston was sixth in the 1-meter diving competition with 190.75 points and Connor Doyle took 18th in the 500 freestyle in 4:56.88.
The Keydet women had a team score of 83 points to put them in fifth place after the first day while the men were sixth. Loyola leads both the men’s and women’s team standings.
There are two Saturday sessions scheduled, at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
