The Rattlers garnered 417 points, with a 32:44.4 average in the 10K run. Shuaib Winters led the Rattlers, finishing in 17th place with a time of 31:45.5. Winters' performance earned him a spot on the NCAA All-South Region team.
The Rattlers had the highest regional finish of any MEAC school in any of the NCAA regional competitions. Additionally, Winters was the only MEAC runner to gain All-South Region honors.
Elias Cheshire finished behind Winters in 33rd place in a time of 32:24.1. Lamere Buchanon finished in 34:30.7, for 118th place; followed by Diemy Duclos who finished in 34:32.4, in 119th place. Robyel Kidane rounded out the Rattler squad, finishing in 35:29.2, which was good for 142nd place.
The Rattler men's cross country team made big strides this season, and this placing is an indication that coach Wayne Angel's vision is gradually coming into view. Angel and his team will now turn their attention to indoor track season.
