SWAC Sprint Champ Competes in Olympic Final
LONDON - Jackson State track and field standout Anaso Jobodwanahad added another proud Tiger moment at the 2012 Olympic Games, competing in the finals of the Men's 200M Dash on Thursday night.
Representing his home country of South Africa, the sophomore JSU sprinter advanced to the finals with an impressive second place time of 20.27 in his semifinal heat.
Running in lane nine, next to a pair of speed burners from Jamaica, one of which being Usain Bolt, the 2012 100M and 200M SWAC champion finished eighth with a time of 20.69.
Bolt breezed to yet another gold medal with a blistering time of 19.32. He was followed by countrymen Yohan Blake (19.44) and Warren Weir (19.84).
Wallace Spearman of the United States finished fourth at 19.90, while Churandy Martina of the Netherlands was fifth (20.00), followed by Christophe Lemaitre of France (20.19) and Alex Quinonez of Equador (20.57).
