Tigers Sweep Weekly Honors

With strong performances at the 61st Annual TSU Relays, the Flying Tigers captured eight first place and seven second place finishes at the two-day competition. Both the men's and women's teams performed solidly, earning four Tigers SWAC Athlete of the Week recognition.

Runner Michael Holmes crossed the finish line in first place in the 200m dash, with a time of 22.49. The sophomore also participated in the 4x200 and 4x400 relays, finishing second (1:26.10) and first (3:11.62), respectively. Holmes impressive performances both in individual and teams events have earned him SWAC Runner of the Week.

Junior Aaron Rogers is recognized as the SWAC Field Athlete of the Week for week one. Rogers also had an impressive performance at the TSU relays, earning first place in the high jump with a mark of 6-08.75, and second place in the long jump with a distance of 21-04.75

For the women, senior Selena Fudge earns Runner of the Week after taking first place in the 400m hurdles with a time of 62.57. Fudge also competed in the 100m hurdles, finishing fifth, and placed fourth in the triple jump (38-3.50).

Terralyn Johnson claims Field Athlete of the Week following her first place finish in the triple jump, recording a distance of 40-3.50. Johnson competed in the long jump, as well, finishing fourth in the event (17002.75).
