Emerged as one of the SEC’s most dynamic players during his season second in the Aggie program ... played in all 34 games during the season, starting all but one contest ... led the conference and appeared among the national leaders with 170 total assists and an average of 5.0 assists per game ... his assists total stood out as the sixth highest by an Aggie in a single season ... notched 69 steals to tie for the SEC lead and rank 27th in the country while also registering as the fifth-highest season total in the A&M record books ... also led the team in both playing time, logging 1,013 minutes (29.8 minutes per game), and blocked shots, collecting 28 ... enjoyed an impressive season debut against Buffalo (11/8), scoring 11 points while recording eight assists and zero turnovers ... finished with 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting against Mississippi Valley State (11/11) ... also chipped in five assists, three blocks and two steals vs. the Delta Devils ... scored nine of his 11 points from the free throw line during a win over Rice (11/15) ... notched 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting against Prairie View A&M (11/19) ...enjoyed a solid outing during the win over McNeese State (12/14), finishing with 13 points and seven assists ... put together a solid all-around effort against UTPA (1/4) finishing with 13 points, six assists, four steals and three blocks ... became the first Aggie since Acie Law IV in 2007 to dish out more than 10 assists when he collected 11 against Arkansas (1/8) ... also chipped in four points, seven rebounds, four steals and two blocks vs. the Razorbacks ... contributed 12 points, eight assists and four steals during a road victory at Tennessee (1/11) ... recorded his 200th career assist during the contest at Mississippi State (1/18) ... also contributed 12 points vs. the Bulldogs ... notched three steals at Kentucky (1/21) to become the 18th member of Texas A&M’s 100-Steal Club ... just the fifth Aggie to eclipse the milestone in only two seasons ... reached double-digits in assists with 10 helpers against Mississippi State (2/5) ... scored 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the field against Alabama (2/20) ... for the second straight contest, scored 14 points during the win over Tennessee (2/22) ... joined the 250-Assist Club with nine assists vs. Ole Miss (3/1) ... became just the 15th Aggie to reach the milestone and the eighth to do so in just two seasons ... enjoyed a career game vs. Missouri in the SEC Tournament (3/13), setting career-highs in points (28), 3-point baskets (5) and minutes played (50) ... dished out 10 assists during the CBI opening contest vs. Wyoming (3/19) ... named the Aggies’ Most Outstanding Player at the program’s annual awards banquet.

2012-13 (Freshman)

Enjoyed an impressive freshman campaign during which he played in all 33 contests, drawing 17 starts and averaging 24.7 minutes ... contributed 5.5 points and 3.2 rebounds per game while finishing with a team-leading 112 assists ... set a new high-water mark for steals by an A&M freshman with 61, breaking a record previously held by Todd Holloway (56 steals in 1983-84) ... ranked fifth in the SEC in steals and eighth in assists ... played 25 minutes during his Aggie debut in the season-opener against Louisiana Tech (11/9) ... scored 13 points in the win over Troy (11/12), while also adding five rebounds and four assists ... dished out a game-high six assists in the win over Northwestern State (11/26) ... drew his first career start at Houston (12/1), finishing with a game-best seven assists vs. the Cougars ... pulled down a season-high eight rebounds and set a personal-best with eight assists during the win over Army (12/29) ... led the Aggies in scoring with 12 points against No. 9 Florida (11/17) ... 11 of his 12 points against the Gators came after halftime ... returned to the starting line-up against No. 20 Missouri (2/7) and dished out a game-high six assists ... notched a season-high five steals at Georgia (2/9) ... logged a game-high six assists in the win over Ole Miss (2/13) ... enjoyed a highlight game during the win at Auburn (2/20), scoring a career-high 14 points while dishing out a personal-best eight assists ... tied his season high with eight assists to go along with seven rebounds at Ole Miss (2/27) ... scored a career-high-tying 14 points against Auburn in the opening round of the SEC Tournament (3/13).

Alex Caruso is the son of Mike and Jackie Caruso ... born Feb. 28, 1994, in College Station, Texas ... grew up around the A&M program, spending many seasons as a ball boy for the Aggies ... father, Mike, played four years at Creighton and coached under Eddie Sutton and is currently an associate athletic director at Texas A&M ... has two sisters who are both Aggies, Megan, class of `14 and Emily, class of `18 ... majoring in sports management ... chose A&M over Colorado, Arizona State, Georgetown, Creighton, Nebraska, Oregon and Texas Tech among others.
