COLLEGE STATION, Texas - No. 13 Texas A&M (21-8, 11-4) will host LSU (18-10, 9-6) on the final day of the regular season for both teams, Sunday at Reed Arena with tip set for 1:00 p.m. (CT). A&M will honor the three seniors on the roster along with their senior student manager prior to the game.
A&M and LSU met earlier this season on Big Monday in Baton Rouge, the Aggies came out the victors 74-57 behind an impressive performance from senior Kristi Bellock with a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds. Junior Kelsey Bone led the game with 21 points on 9-for-15 shooting. Freshman Courtney Walker rounded out the double-digit scorers for A&M with 16 points. The Aggies held the Tiger's leading scorer Theresa Plaisance to 3-for-13 shooting, the second lowest shooting percentage in a game this season for Plaisance.
The Aggies are returning to the court following a hard-fought 82-72 loss at No. 8 Tennessee, senior Adrienne Pratcher scored a season high 20 points, leading all scorers in the game. Walker set a career high with eight assists in 40 minutes of action.
Texas A&M currents sits tied with Georgia (23-5, 11-4) at third place in league standings, if both teams remain tied following Sunday A&M will earn the third seed at the SEC tournament due defeating the Lady Bulldogs earlier this season. LSU currently stands tied for fifth with Vanderbilt (19-9, 9-6) and holds the head-to-head tie breaker over the Commodores.
The Aggies lead the SEC in field goal percentage, three-point field goal percentage, assist-to-turnover ratio and assists per game heading into the matchup with LSU. Individually, Bone leads the SEC in field goal percentage (fifth nationally), ranks second in rebounding and places third in scoring. Pratcher is currently first in the SEC and fourth nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.7) according to the latest NCAA stats release on Feb. 28.
Pratcher enters Senior Night with 301 career assists is just 9 assists short of entering the top-10 in program history, Kerrie Patterson (1995-99) sits in 10th with 310 career assists. Bone was the 24th player in program history to pull down 500 rebounds at Texas A&M and ranks 20th all-time with 523 having passed Lisa Branch (1992-96, 522) and 72 short of the top-10 (Tyra White 2007-12, 594). Bone is currently 77 points short of 1,000 at Texas A&M, when she passes the threshold she will be the 26th player in school history to do so.
